He adopts Rachel, the baby, and raises her foregoing all the wild ways of his youth.We have a lot to worry about in 锟絋he Silent Girls.锟?Rachel, now in college, won锟絫 return any of Rath锟絪 phone calls and he锟絪 understandably concerned. Eventually her phone message box fills up and still no contact. Anxieties mount, for Rath and the readers. Rath, meanwhile, has never told Rachel the truth about her parents锟?deaths and the parole hearing of their killer, Ned Preacher, is at hand.Furthermore, Rath锟絪 back is killing him. He can barely move without excruciating pain.
